Companies spend billions of dollars annually studying what consumers need, as we learned in our last Consumer Behavior. During the Garbology activity in class, we saw just how many different products students in our class purchase and use regularly. But how do those products get from the store shelves into our shopping carts? The companies that pay for search advertising or retargeting ads, want to find out what kind of things you’re interested in. These companies can reach out to you with special offers and coupons for the products you’re interested in buying, as opposed to blindly paying for advertising that may or may not reach their intended audience.
