As technology increases with each passing day, people have become constantly connected to each other through smartphones, email and social media. Businesses have taken notice and the need for seamless and integrating shopping experiences was established. Omnichannel marketing is one of the most important solutions that all businesses need to learn to utilize. Retailers have learned that shoppers will purchase from desktop computers, smartphones, and brick and mortar locations – but these experiences must be unified. Take for example a consumer who sees a social media post about a product, opens that retailer’s app on their smartphone, clicks away to purchase the item that they saw posted (and several others that they forgot they needed), and then after work swings by the store to pick up their order. Omnichannel marketing doesn’t really end with marketing – it extends to the entire customer experience and is becoming an absolutely necessary piece of the marketing puzzle.
